  • The Brandywine Valley SPCA rescued about 40 dogs and cats that survived flooding in Texas and brought them here on two flights—one Friday and one Saturday—and the animals are now available for adoption.  WDEL

  • First State Compassion in Milford is getting ready to launch recreational cannabis sales from its marijuana cultivation and processing facility in a nondescript industrial building; the facility has a scientific—highly secure atmosphere.  Bay to Bay News

CRIME NEWS

  • Four teenage boys allegedly broke into a Dunkin' Donuts in Bear-area at around 5 a.m. Thursday by having two break in through a window while the other two acted as lookouts—police later identified the three 14-year-olds and one 13-year-old, three of whom live in Wilmington, and charged them with burglary, theft and conspiracy before releasing them to their parents.  WDEL
  • Gerald Carroll left his home on Fols Crescent Avenue in Penn Acres on October 29 while riding his bike and has not been seen since — police ask anyone with information to contact the New Castle County Criminal Investigations Unit.  New Castle County Police Department

  • Delaware Online has published a gallery of past photos from the Ice Cream Festival at Rockwood Museum near Wilmington that show families enjoying ice cream, live music and fireworks.
