- ➤ State lawmakers passed a bill last week that increases daily fines by as much as $30,000 for environmental violations and directs the funds to communities within two miles of polluting plants—Gov. - ➤ DNREC announced that starting Saturday, July 12th, seven state beaches will no longer require surf fishing reservations on weekends and holidays as surveys and staff feedback confirmed these sites had room for more anglers. - ➤ Wilmington City Council decided to reform the Land Bank instead of dissolving it as concerns over past mismanagement and a confusing home buying process grew.
