- ➤ Unemployment claims in Delaware fell from 396 to 377 for the week ending Dec. 19, according to the U.S. Department of Labor; national claims dropped from 224,000 to 214,000. Delaware Online
- ➤ Gas prices in the Central Atlantic region (including Delaware) fell to $2.96 per gallon on Dec. 22, down from $3.01 last week, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported. The regional average remains about 4.3% above the national price. Delaware Online

- ➤ The American Civil Liberties Union Delaware filed a complaint on Dec. 22 in Superior Court against three school districts that charged unusually high fees for FOIA requests. Bay to Bay News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ DNREC ordered Delaware City Refining Company in New Castle to install sensors that detect chemicals following a November leak that released 108.75 tons of butane and volatile organic compounds. The company must complete the installation by Feb. 20. Delaware Public Media
