  • Last week in Wilmington, Northeast Rising held a community meeting to promote a $4 million living shoreline project for the 11th Street Bridge area as an eco-friendly flood solution, while Public Works plans to release a flood study by late January before seeking funding.  Delaware Public Media

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Over 18,000 Delaware residents receive letters today that forgive $18.8M in medical debt as Gov. Meyer partners with Undue Medical Debt to ease $50M in unpaid bills and plans further relief in 2026.  WHYY

HEALTH NEWS

  • Delaware’s new Health Secretary, Christen Linke Young, outlined her priorities as she steps into her role. She detailed plans aimed at improving public health in the state, setting a direction for the department in the coming months.  Delaware Online
  • ChristianaCare and Virtua Health ended talks on co-founding a regional not-for-profit health system that would have served over 10 counties after signing a letter of intent in July; the networks said they will continue operating independently to provide quality care.  Delaware Online
  • ChristianaCare and Virtua Health canceled plans to form a regional health system after canceling their summer letter of intent+ they will continue operating independently to serve local communities. The cancellation was announced Dec. 18 at 5:25 p.m.  Delaware Public Media

  • The Eagles could clinch their second straight NFC East title if they win against the Commanders on Dec. 20 or if the Cowboys lose on Dec. 21, though they are without key players Jalen Carter and Lane Johnson.
