- ➤ University of Delaware sophomore James Guthrie, a dedicated ROTC cadet and cherished member of the Wilmington campus community, passed away on Oct. 7. His instructors and classmates remember him for his warmth, curiosity, and active participation in both academic and military events. University of Delaware
- ➤ Residents of Wilmington enjoyed sledding at Rockford Park on Monday, Dec. 15 (a day of shared winter cheer among neighbors) as fresh snow brought the community together for fun outdoor play. Delaware Online

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ DNREC appointed five new leaders for state parks (Jayce Madden, Pat Thompson, Chris Pauley, Lindsey Goebel, and Amy Haddock) to manage operations across key park sites and the Brandywine Zoo. The appointments were made recently to strengthen state park management. Deleware State Government
- ➤ Residents attended a Board of Adjustment hearing about the historic Inn at Montchanin which is set to become a recovery center for brain-injured patients (a decision will be made on Dec. 18). Delaware Online
- ➤ Delaware will save $328 million through fiscal year 2028 after lawmakers decoupled state tax rules from key federal provisions last month, reversing an earlier forecast of a $400 million drop in corporate income tax revenue.
