- ➤ Founder India Sage Williams of Delaware Sensory Museum Inc. will soon open the state’s first sensory hub — a safe space for neurodiverse children, adults and families. The initiative also previews an Inaugural Awards Banquet on Dec. 12 at Oath 84 to honor local changemakers. DETV
- ➤ Judy Travis & her team has launched the Stockings for Soldiers project to send thousands of gift bags to troops overseas today, inspired by her son's service. In its 22nd year, the volunteer effort has delivered over 160,000 stockings to spread holiday cheer to military members. 6abc

- ➤ The Wilmington & Western Railroad will host two holiday train rides from Greenbank Station this December; the Santa Claus Express will allow children to meet Santa on select dates while the Holiday Lights Express will feature festive scenes starting today at 8 p.m. Ticket details and special rentals are available online. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Matt Meyer joined a multistate petition asking the EPA to add microplastics to the Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule under the Safe Drinking Water Act. Food & Water Watch led the advocacy before the final rule is scheduled for December 2026. WDEL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Dec. 3, business leaders and landlords testified at Dover’s Special Committee on Reassessment, arguing that revising property tax classifications could ease burdens on small businesses, child care providers, and farmers. The final hearing is scheduled for Dec. 9—official decisions are expected to impact future tax reforms. Delaware Public Media
- ➤ New Castle County mailed revised 2025 property tax bills on the week of Nov. 24-28, and those who paid in July will see adjustments in November. Homeowners owed more than $50 can request a refund (tax payments are due Dec. 31). WDEL
- ➤ Wilmington is now accepting applications for a forgivable, interest-free loan up to $15,000 aimed at first-time homebuying educators. Applicants must commit to five years of employment at a local public or charter school and live in the home for 10 years, with funds subject to availability. Delaware Online
