- ➤ Two pop-up food drives distributed about 10,000 pounds of food in New Castle County on Thursday as community leaders worked to ease the SNAP gap amid federal benefit changes—YMCA and r4 Technologies joined elected officials to support Delaware families in need. WDEL
- ➤ Whale of a Sale — a long-standing Delaware shopping tradition since 1980 — will take place tomorrow at Concord Mall on Concord Pike in Talleyville from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with free admission and proceeds benefiting the Junior League of Wilmington. Delaware Online
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Crews removed large pieces of siding from the northwest corner of the Chase Fieldhouse on South Market Street early Thursday after a 46-mile-per-hour wind gust caused damage overnight, leaving the interior courts exposed. The building—home of the Delaware Blue Coats—is set to host the Westchester Knicks on Saturday afternoon, and no injuries were reported. WDEL
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Redding Consortium will vote on December 16—choosing from three redistricting models to reshape New Castle County public school boundaries—and will host public discussion sessions and attend school board meetings to gather input before finalizing a plan in February. If approved, the changes will not be implemented for another three to five years. WDEL
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ DNREC's survey found that many Delawareans have not heard of PFAS – chemicals found in non-stick pans, food packaging and firefighting foam – while some have already taken steps like using bottled water or changing cookware. The department will use these results to boost public education on PFAS through its website and community meetings. Deleware State Government

- ➤ The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office urged Delawareans to take action during National Carbon Monoxide Awareness Month this November — a silent threat from fuel-burning devices that can cause severe illness or death.
