- ➤ Delaware Health Insurance Marketplace rates will rise up to 35% after federal budget cuts and the end of premium tax credits, affecting nearly 50,000 residents. Insurance Commissioner Trinidad Navarro warned that these higher costs may lead more people to go without coverage — a challenge as the state works to keep health care affordable. - ➤ Delmarva Power launched its Delaware Customer Relief Fund to help customers with high energy bills by offering up to $300 in bill credits on a first-come, first-served basis. The fund was supported by a $4.5 million contribution from Exelon and requires customers to join the Energize Delaware Home Energy Checkup and Counseling program (to confirm eligibility). - ➤ Back-to-school activity began this week in New Castle County as kindergarten students at Pleasantville Elementary were greeted by a high school mascot on Monday, August 25 and full classes started on Tuesday, August 26 in Colonial, Brandywine and Red Clay districts. Appoquinimink and Christina will welcome students starting Tuesday, September 2 and Wednesday, September 3—drivers are urged to use caution near school zones. WDEL
