- ➤ On Aug. 17, 2025, hundreds of Latinos attended the eighth annual procession and mass in honor of La Virgen del Cisne at La Parroquia de Santos Angeles near Newark—organized by the Delaware Ministry of the Cisne and led by founder Alex Villalon from Mexico. The celebration featured music and folk dance with attendees coming from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington, DC, New Jersey and New York. Delaware Online

- ➤ Brian Briddle, 27 from Newark, was sentenced after pleading guilty to causing the death of University of Delaware freshman Noelia Gomez who was struck by his speeding motorcycle on East Main Street on August 27—he will remain in prison until July 2039. First State Update

- ➤ The Delaware Public Archives launched a new interactive historical markers map on the state website—built using ArcGIS to let users view official markers and filter by categories such as Black History, Native American Heritage, and Women’s History.
