- ➤ A woman was rescued after a man set fire to a home during a barricade standoff last night on North Rodney Street in Wilmington—police said the suspect, who had confronted officers with a knife at 3 a.m., was later taken into custody. 6abc
- ➤ A Wilmington man Marcus Simpson was charged after a crash near School Bell Road in the Bear area cut another vehicle in half when a driver ran a red light near Christiana Meadows—State Police are continuing to investigate the incident and Simpson now faces charges including vehicular assault, DUI causing negligent injury, and firearm possession. - ➤ Governor Matt Meyer signed a bipartisan property tax relief package last night that grants refunds, flexible payment plans and safeguards for Delaware homeowners after the statewide tax reassessment. The new laws mandate a review of the assessment process and allow counties and municipalities to set different property tax rates—ensuring residents are protected from large tax increases. WITN
- ➤ Delaware officials urged Pennsylvania lawmakers to help fund SEPTA so the rail service from Newark to Philadelphia, which stops in Stanton, Wilmington and Claymont, stays open.
