- ➤ Delaware State Police arrested 37-year-old Leroy Buchanan on July 23 after an attempted robbery outside Dunkin’ Donuts at 3224 Philadelphia Pike in Claymont—troopers said he struck a woman who stopped him from taking her suitcase before he was released on a $2,500 unsecured bond while facing charges of Attempted Robbery Second Degree and Offensive Touching. - ➤ Students in southern Delaware are learning about their Latino heritage through The Culture Club PR, which brings cultural programs to schools and community events & offers hands-on workshops in cooking and entrepreneurship. - ➤ On July 2, 2025, the Public Service Commission approved a settlement that raised Tidewater water rates by 13% and fixed monthly charges by 5%—adding roughly $8 to an average residential bill. Matt Meyer signed legislation on July 28 that expanded education access, strengthened legal protections and improved support for military families, veterans and National Guard members—he also declared July 25 'Hire a Veteran Day' and awarded Chesapeake Utilities and Dover Federal Credit Union for their commitment to hiring veterans.
