- ➤ New Castle County Division of Police has issued a Gold Alert for 18-year-old Kiany Pitillo, who was last seen at 3:00 p.m. on July 16 leaving her unit block on Court Drive in Wilmington and is described as a black female 5’7” tall with brown eyes and black hair with blue streaks—police urge anyone with information to call 302-573-2800 or dial 911 immediately. - ➤ Delaware Shakespeare company will premiere its first bilingual musical production, Twelfth Night, O Lo Que Quieras, at Rockwood Park in Wilmington. The show starts today and runs until August 3, and it presents a musical story inspired by themes of family separation and immigration reform. 6abc

- ➤ Tom Tao, an assistant professor at UD, designed a nine-month scenario planning exercise for Incyte employees—part of the UD PCS PocketMBA program—to help them plan strategic responses to drug development challenges. - ➤ State Auditor Lydia York said her office will start a special inquiry into accounting errors at Appoquinimink School District that caused a 10% tax increase, with a report due by Labor Day. The review will check cash flow mistakes that nearly forced the district into financial trouble—Superintendent Matthew Burrows has pledged full cooperation. Spotlight Delaware
- ➤ Delaware transit officials said SEPTA faces a $213 million funding gap that will lead to rail service cuts in August and end Delaware train service by January 1, 2026—disrupting many commuters traveling to and from Philadelphia. DART will launch a direct bus service from Newark to 30th Street Station and will survey riders at Newark, Wilmington, and Claymont stations as it works on new travel options. Delaware LIVE
- ➤ Gov. Meyer signed 11 bills on July 16 to lower energy prices and boost renewable energy production—some laws help low-income families and improve the state grid. - ➤ ChristianaCare and Virtua Health signed a non-binding letter of intent to explore co-founding a regional not-for-profit health system (serving parts of New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland) that would combine over 600 care sites with nearly 30,000 employees.
