Here's your local news at a glance for Monday, the 30th of June.
Good morning, Wilmington.
A 17-year-old girl was shot in Wilmington Saturday night and was found on the 1400 block of West 3rd Street at about 10:30 p.m. before being taken to a hospital in stable condition—police are asking anyone with information to call Detective Kevin Nolan.
Lawmakers will consider House Bill 82 today—this law forces board members to live in the district at least 75% of the year—and if it passes and Governor Matt Meyer signs it before July 8, board member Naveed Baqir will lose his vote when the board picks new leaders.
Baqir, who has not attended meetings in person for 16 months—reportedly while living in Pakistan—has faced criticism over his remote participation.
