- ➤ The Brandywine Valley SPCA said its annual summer Mega Adoption event at the Bob Carpenter Center was a success as 1,017 adoptable animals found new forever homes—570 dogs and 447 cats. WDEL

- ➤ On June 19th, officers from New Castle County arrested four juveniles after a Hyundai Elantra was reported stolen and a Nissan Altima was broken into at Village of Kent Apartments—two suspects from Wilmington and one from Newark and one more from Wilmington were charged with multiple counts and released on $4,000 unsecured bail. - ➤ A Delaware State Police investigation is underway in Lewes after an officer-involved shooting near Blackwood Drive on Angola led troopers to search for an armed white male suspect as of 5:30 a.m. Monday, June 23 and officials have not released details about the incident or any injuries—residents are told to avoid the area and call 9-1-1 if they see suspicious activity. - ➤ Tickets for Broadway performances at The Grand have been on sale since June 23, with Mandy Patinkin set to perform In Concert: Jukebox on Oct. 6 and Adam Pascal with Anthony Rapp scheduled for Feb. 25—additional shows including Mrs. Doubtfire, Kinky Boots, and The Music Man now offer single tickets. - ➤ The Delaware River & Bay Authority voted to name the Wilmington Airport terminal the Thomas R. Carper Passenger Terminal Facility to honor the retired senator’s decades of service — the terminal is under renovation and will be dedicated later this year. Delaware LIVE
- ➤ Delaware lawmakers passed measures raising DMV fees, cigarette taxes, and toll prices—critics say the increases will make car ownership more expensive for low-income residents. The bill raises the vehicle documentation fee from 4.25% to 5.25% and is set to generate extra funds for state services. WHYY
- ➤ Parents in Delaware must follow strict fireworks laws that allow only legal ground-based displays and sparklers on July 4 and require teens to be 18 to purchase and set off specific fireworks—guidelines set by the Delaware State Fire Marshall. The rules come as the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission found that teens 15 to 19 have had the highest rate of fireworks-related emergency room visits. Delaware Online
