- ➤ Today, the BVSPCA and Faithful Friends Animal Society host their Mega Adoption Event at the Bob Carpenter Center on the UD campus in Newark—adoption fees are waived while pets, already spayed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped, wait for new families from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. WDEL
- ➤ Delaware pools and spray parks are free for everyone to enjoy this summer. Wilmington pools run from June 16 to August 15 and Newark pools operate Tuesday to Saturday from June 14 to August 16, while spray parks are open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Sept 1—all pools will be closed on July 4. - ➤ On June 19th at 8:02 p.m., detectives from New Castle County’s Active Crime Trends Team stopped a Nissan Altima in Edgemoor for a traffic violation and found an imitation Glock along with a loaded Glock and boxes of psilocybin chocolate, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia—arresting 24 year old Jaylin Greenidge who now faces multiple felony charges and is held at Howard R. - ➤ Hagley Museum and Library is hosting an exhibit titled 'du Pont Family Weddings, 1813-1942' as part of its 'Coming to America' celebration to mark the 225th anniversary of the du Ponts' arrival, featuring historic wedding gowns and memorabilia through Sept. 1 — the display is included with museum admission and is on view at the Eleutherian Mills Residence in Greenville. - ➤ Federal immigration agents contacted four local police departments to ask if they would join ICE’s 287(g) program, but only Camden agreed in April—pausing the agreement after public pushback. Mara Gorman's two immigration protection bills head to a full vote in the Delaware House—one to stop local police from partnering with ICE and another to ban civil arrests in courthouses without a judicial warrant, with both needing to pass in four days to reach the governor’s desk.
