- ➤ Delaware Online/The News Journal is relaunching the 2025 Most-Famous Delawareans contest to let natives vote for who they think is the top figure, with nominations accepted until June 19. - ➤ DNREC has declared today an Air Quality Action Day for Code Red particulate matter in New Castle County as wildfire smoke from New Jersey creates unhealthy breathing conditions. - ➤ The Delaware legislature advanced two bills that would require high schools to offer a financial literacy course and adopt a policy for cell phone use during school hours. The financial literacy bill—sponsored by Rep. Hilovsky—passed unanimously in the House and will now go to the Senate, while the cell phone policy bill—sponsored by Rep. Williams—passed unanimously in the Senate and must clear the full House before reaching Governor Matt Meyer. Delaware Public Media

- ➤ In a roundtable in Bear, Governor Matt Meyer, state lawmakers and health officials discussed how medical debt is squeezing families’ budgets and affecting access to housing and food — and he proposed spending $500K on a program that would let a nonprofit buy and settle debt — while Senate Bill 156 may keep such debt off credit reports.
