- ➤ At the annual Media and Democracy Summit at UD, experts, journalists and students talked about a loss of trust in the news and the need for clear information to support democracy. - ➤ Henry L. 'Harry' Shipman, a longtime UD astronomy professor and Francis Alison Award recipient, died April 29 in Hockessin at 77 with his family by his side. - ➤ Delaware lawmakers have proposed a bill that would allow only licensed liquor stores to sell cannabis-infused beverages—banning sales in restaurants, bars, CBD shops, and online. The measure would limit THC to 10 mg per 12—ounce can and add a 50—cent tax, with the bill now on the House ready list for a vote before the session ends on June 30. WHYY
- ➤ Wilmington officials met in March with a team representing Biden to present four proposed sites for his future presidential library — two in downtown and two in Riverfront East — and they noted available construction funding while clarifying that no federal funds were committed.
