- ➤ Wilmington police responded to gunfire on the 1300 block of Linden Street on Sunday, June 1 at 9:18 p.m.—a 23-year-old man was taken to the hospital in stable condition as investigators work to determine what happened. First State Update
- ➤ New Castle County Police charged 34-year-old Joseph Caceres, a school van driver for Red Lion Christian Academy from Bear area, with five counts of third degree rape after he allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student from November 2024 to May this year—he is held at Howard Young prison on $100,000 cash bail. - ➤ Delaware tax filers who have not yet received their refund can check the status on the Delaware Tax Portal or by calling 302-577-8200 — the IRS noted that delays may stem from errors, incomplete forms, or identity theft, and refunds may take up to 12 weeks to be processed. Delaware Online
- ➤ Delaware lawmakers approved a Senate bill to reduce PFAS in drinking water—mandating water providers to begin testing in January 2026 and lower levels by 2029—and the measure now awaits a House vote while the EPA seeks to extend compliance deadlines and ease restrictions.
