CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Arden Shakespeare Gild will present The Winter's Tale at the Field Theater in Arden from June 11 to 19 + a matinee is scheduled on June 13 at 2 p.m. Director John K Baxter is staging the play in a modern 70s style and has arranged a rain plan at the Arden Gild Hall. Delaware Online
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ DelDOT has painted white numbers on I-95 lanes near and south of Wilmington to help drivers and first responders during construction work. The north lanes carry numbers one through five and the south lanes carry numbers six through ten — a plan that guides drivers during projects like the Churchmans Marsh bridge work. Delaware Online
- ➤ Gov. Matt Meyer signed a law that bans Red No. 40 from sale and distribution during the school day in Delaware schools in order to lower student health risks — the restrictions will take effect July 1, 2026. Delaware becomes the second state to make this change after California. Delaware Online
- ➤ Mayor Carney named a veteran of Wilmington's legal department as Acting City Solicitor today – his appointment follows a thorough review of city legal needs – and officials say policy updates will follow shortly. WDEL
