ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Delaware State Police have identified Antonio Hopkins, 58, of Millsboro as the motorcyclist killed when a 2006 Toyota Sienna crossed lanes on Millsboro Highway early May 25, with the driver—a 48-year-old man from Salisbury—uninjured and two passengers taken to hospital with minor injuries as investigators work the crash scene. - ➤ A 59-year-old rider suffered serious injuries when he laid his motorcycle down on Route 1 northbound at Roth Bridge Monday at about 3:34 p.m.—he was struck by a tractor trailer, received emergency care, and was airlifted to Christiana Hospital while Delaware State Police investigated the crash. - ➤ A rare streaked shearwater was spotted off the Delaware coast when a bird watcher on the Cape May to Lewes Ferry snapped a photo earlier this month. - ➤ Delaware lawmakers will begin a public markup of the 2026 state budget on Wednesday and Thursday in Dover after learning they have an extra $100 million to spend for schools, police, and other programs. State planners will review proposals for a new warehouse in Selbyville and homes in Smyrna, and the Wilmington City Council will consider limiting rent increases to 3% next week—steps that may reshape funding and housing options in the state.
