Wilmington Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday when officers responded to gunfire near West 23rd and Washington Streets—finding a 24-year-old man who later died from his injuries and a 25-year-old man in stable condition—as the investigation continues.

Delaware State University announced a one-year hiring freeze that will begin June 1 to safeguard against uncertain federal and state funding while limiting new hires to critical roles.
