- ➤ A final donation of over $390,000 from the Mark H. Goldman Trust gave the Needy Family Fund one last chance to help Delaware families. Funds were allocated on May 22 to The Salvation Army, the Food Bank, and State Services to support housing, utilities and food. Delaware Online
- ➤ On Thursday, May 21, the Needy Family Fund presented an $86,000 check to the Food Bank of Delaware for its mobile pantry program aimed at reaching more local families. Delaware Online
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A study by the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement showed that nonprofits employed 73,000 people, paid $5.2 billion in wages, and added $14.1 billion to the regional product during 2022. - ➤ DNREC is finishing navigation aid work in five major boating waters ahead of Memorial Day weekend. The department is replacing channel markers damaged in winter storms and removing unreliable markers from Baker's Channel so boaters can navigate safely using Massey's Ditch as an alternative.
