- ➤ Early Sunday, a fire damaged the historic Mother African Union Church in Wilmington, leaving only its brick and concrete frame; firefighters who suffered minor injuries protected nearby homes while faith leaders and neighbors gathered Monday to plan temporary worship and support rebuilding efforts.
