  • With summer approaching, Delaware officials will soon enforce new rules that limit when and where dogs can be on the beaches. The changes aim to balance public access and safety.  Delaware Online

  • Vote for Delaware’s Prom of the Week contest today through Wednesday at 5 p.m. — local readers choose their favorite prom celebration as videographer Joseph Johnson produces a spotlight video for the winner.  Delaware Online

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Thomas McKean High School students and their guests celebrated prom at The Waterfall on May 15 by enjoying dancing and music. The festive school event marked an exciting milestone for the students.  Delaware Online
  • Students from Archmere Academy celebrated their senior prom at The Patio at Archmere Academy on May 16.  Delaware Online
  • Taylor Hawk (legislative and political strategy director with DSEA) said she draws inspiration from members of the state's largest educators union. Her remarks underscore a commitment to advocate for local educators.  Delaware Online
  • UD landscape architecture students installed a pollinator garden at Gauger-Cobbs Middle School today — the project creates a hands-on learning space where native plants support local pollinators.  University of Delaware

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, as warmer weather brings more ATV and OHV activity, the New Castle County Division of Police urge riders to follow Delaware law by using their vehicles only off-road. Violators on public roads or sidewalks risk citations and towing (call 302 573-2800).  New Castle County Police Department

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Dog rules vary across Delaware beach towns: Dewey Beach allows off-leash fun on mornings and evenings from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, Bethany Beach will host a Halloween pet parade, and Rehoboth Beach extended dog hours; statewide, dogs must be licensed (and leashed except in designated off-leash spots).  Delaware Online

SPORTS NEWS

  • Delaware Super Cup will run from May 28 to May 31 at DE Turf Sports Complex in Frederica and feature hundreds of international teams, youth tournaments with professional scouts, a business fair, and multicultural exhibits that promise a $2 million boost for local businesses.  WHYY
  • On May 15, bikers of all levels raced a 3.2-mile course at Brandywine Park during the Grand Prix kick-off, raising funds for the Urban Bike Project (a nonprofit supporting local cycling). Live music and food trucks entertained cheering fans.  Delaware LIVE
