- ➤ DJ’s Alliance, a statewide nonprofit that helps those who lost loved ones to suicide, will collect donated shoes of all sizes to repurpose for impoverished countries. The fundraiser will start soon + aims to gather a wide range of shoes to support people in need. Bay to Bay News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Lewes man named Clifton Gibbs was convicted on May 13 on charges of sex trafficking, forced labor and interstate transportation for prostitution—he forced vulnerable drug users into sex work while his codefendant Brooke Waters pleaded guilty in January for similar crimes. Delaware Online
- ➤ A Dover man, Jaquan Fletcher, 22, was convicted by a Superior Court jury in Kent County for killing Frederick Tolson and for attempting to murder three others in separate December 2023 shootings—he faces sentencing on August 12 with a mandatory life term plus additional years. - ➤ Jah’Mir Johnson, 21, was fatally shot in a triple shooting in Wilmington on May 8 at about 6:45 p.m. in the 800 block of E. 22nd St., injuring a 9-year-old girl and a 19-year-old woman — he was the cousin of Jahlil Patton, who was fatally shot five years ago in Bear. Delaware Online
