- ➤ Delaware State Police arrested two suspects in connection with a violent robbery and carjacking at Merchants Square shopping center on April 14—detectives continue to search for two additional suspects. First State Update
- ➤ The New Castle County Police issued a Gold Alert for 43-year-old Evan Gane after he left his Wilmington home on the 1100 block of Wynnbrook Road before 9:00 a.m. on May 9—officers say he might be in a white work van and they are concerned for his safety. New Castle County Police Department

- ➤ The State Senate has held off confirming nominee Joshua Sanderlin for marijuana commissioner until he divests his financial interest in two cannabis companies—Sanderlin has begun the divestment process and his full confirmation is expected early next week. Delaware Public Media
- ➤ On May 8, a crowded Wilmington committee meeting brought together renters in matching t-shirts and landlords in collared shirts to discuss a proposed ordinance that would limit rent increases to 3% or the 12-month regional consumer price index—an idea supported by Council member Darby and renters claiming it gives them room to breathe. The measure, which excludes small landlords, public housing and new developments, is set for a tentative vote on May 22—officials will then decide if it can help improve affordable housing while keeping property development steady.
