ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A speeding U-Haul crashed Tuesday at Main and Haines streets near University of Delaware in Newark, killing one pedestrian and injuring seven others as officers detained both suspects after the vehicle fled police. WHYY
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The New Castle County Division of Police has issued a Gold Alert for 53-year-old Jonathan Beird, a white man with brown hair, brown eyes, standing 5'11" and weighing 200 lbs who was last seen at 12:19 p.m. on April 30 near Annand Drive in Wilmington and may be driving a white 2021 Dodge Ram with Delaware registration 60048, and officers urge anyone with information to call 911 or (302)573-2800. - ➤ Newark Police arrested 22-year-old Gordon Turner of New Castle for a fatal Main Street crash that killed a 24-year-old University of Delaware graduate and critically injured another as he fled a shopping center in a stolen U-Haul van — police said he is also a fugitive wanted in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Georgia. - ➤ A 30-year-old Dover man was arrested for felony theft and unlawful use of a credit card after an investigation linked him to the Little Creek Fire Co.—Delaware State Police confirmed the charges. Bay to Bay News
