  • Food Bank of Delaware will hold its second annual spring plant sale on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the garden of its Milford facility at 102 Delaware Veterans Blvd—intended to benefit agriculture.  Bay to Bay News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Delaware State Police and the State Fire Marshal's Office investigated a fatal fire on April 23 at the 3000 block of Big Stone Beach Road north of Milford—firefighters found a body in the burned area and officers do not suspect foul play.  WDEL

  • At the Shifting Sands Environmental Sustainability Summit in Dewey Beach, Sen. Stephanie Hansen and DNREC Secretary Greg Patterson expressed concern over meeting Delaware’s mandate—43% of new cars sold must be electric or plug-in hybrids by 2027. They said rising tariffs and reduced federal rebates may delay progress on the plan—adding doubt to future steps for reducing vehicle emissions.  Spotlight Delaware
  • Gov. Matt Meyer nominated veteran attorney Joshua Sanderlin on Monday to serve as Delaware’s next state marijuana commissioner. Sanderlin—an expert in cannabis law and regulation—will lead efforts to launch the delayed recreational market and address federal and local challenges pending his confirmation by the State Senate.  Spotlight Delaware
