- ➤ The Delaware Department of Agriculture reminds residents that First State farmers markets and farm stands will open in May, featuring Delaware Grown produce & thorough food inspections by the Food Products Inspection section. - ➤ Acme Markets Foundation donated $50,000 to the Food Bank of Delaware on Thursday, Apr. 23 at the Route 9 library by New Castle as part of a mobile food pantry event aimed at boosting local food access. WDEL

- ➤ Potbelly Sandwich Works will open its first Delaware store in late June at 455 Middletown-Warwick Road in Middletown and plans a second location in the Newark/Wilmington area as part of an expansion strategy. - ➤ The Delaware Division of Small Business is supporting local startups with EDGE 2.0 grants that offer cash funding and coaching. - ➤ Odessa High School FFA and Agriscience Team won the 2026 Delaware Envirothon Championship today at Sussex Academy. - ➤ The American Lung Association reported that all Delaware counties earned passing grades on its State of the Air report, though New Castle County scored a D for high ozone days.
