  • DNREC & the Center for the Inland Bays will host Water Family Fest and Native Plant Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at James Farm Ecological Preserve, offering families rides on DNREC boats, over 35 educational exhibits, local food, and live music.  Deleware State Government

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Delaware State Police said on April 22 at about 12:08 p.m. that a fatal crash occurred in Clayton when a Chevrolet Silverado struck a silver Jeep that rolled through a stop sign—killing the Jeep driver, a 73-year-old man, while the Silverado driver and passengers were treated for minor injuries; officials closed the roadway for about three hours during the investigation.  First State Update

  • The Delaware Department of Labor’s Division of Industrial Affairs is launching a free Small Business Bootcamp during National Small Business Week. It will be held Monday, May 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Route 9 Library in New Castle and will offer six compliance-focused workshops — covering topics from workplace safety to wage and hour 101 — along with a Small Business Marketplace to connect local entrepreneurs with key resources.  Delaware LIVE

  • Delaware recorders of deeds warned that scammers use AI—creating forged documents that look real—to steal property and that free monitoring services have been launched to alert residents when suspicious filings occur.  Delaware Online

  • Built in 1907, the Wilmington train station remains a cherished landmark and was renamed Joseph R. Biden Jr. Railroad Station in 2011.   • The University of Delaware's Physical Therapy Clinic was rated best in the nation on April 23rd—highlighting its strong record of patient care.  Delaware Online

  • Rep. Kevin Hensley pleaded guilty to a DUI crash on April 15 that injured another driver and lost his seat on the Joint Finance Committee Tuesday as Speaker Melissa Minor-Brown removed him to preserve public trust — Rep. Charles Postles will fill the vacant seat.  Spotlight Delaware

HEALTH NEWS

  • House Bill 140, which would let terminally ill Delaware residents request physician-assisted death, passed both chambers and now awaits Gov. Matt Meyer's signature. If signed, patients with six months or less to live will be able to request a prescription for life-ending medication — a process that requires doctors to confirm their terminal diagnosis and informed consent.  Spotlight Delaware
