- ➤ The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control confirmed the first case of Chronic Wasting Disease in a hunter-harvested white-tailed deer on Wednesday, Apr. 22 in Dover — officials say harvested meat should not be eaten. Bay to Bay News
- ➤ Dewey Beach Town Hall project workers discovered an osprey nesting atop a crane during this nesting season. Costello Construction will rent a replacement crane at a cost of about $15,000 & continue work while protecting the bird. WDEL
- ➤ Fifty native trees were planted at Ashland Nature Center in Yorklyn in the days before Earth Day, April 22, and Veolia partnered with Delaware Nature Society — donating $10,000 to help conservation efforts. WDEL

- ➤ Delaware senators approved HB 17 on Tuesday to ease purchase regulations for hospitals while still requiring approvals for projects over $5.8 million + increases in bed capacity above 10%. The bill now goes to Gov. Matt Meyer for signature to help speed equipment upgrades. Spotlight Delaware
