  • Students gathered at the Bob Carpenter Center on Apr. 12 for UDance, a full day of dancing, games, and performances that raised funds for childhood cancer. The event united community members in a celebration of local support.  Delaware Online

  • Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows Delaware’s unemployment rate remains above the national average—reflecting a shift from pre-COVID lows.  Bay to Bay News

  • Holly Grove Christian School in Westover announced its third quarter honor roll students for the 2025-26 school year on April 12. The list features first grade honorees such as Alora Bendick and Hunter Brittingham.  Bay to Bay News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A proposed Delaware bill would stop credit card companies from charging processing fees on tips— a change expected to return nearly $6 million to local restaurants and relieve extra costs, but it remains stalled in the House amid bank opposition before the legislative session ends June 30.  WDEL
  • Delmarva Power reminds residents to call 811 before outdoor projects during National Safe Digging Month this April to protect underground utility lines & reduce safety risks; the free service must be scheduled at least three business days in advance. Last year, crews responded to 296 incidents caused by unsafe digging.  WDEL
