  • Wilmington officials planned a park project in 2006 to reclaim a long-neglected corner at 22nd and Lamotte; the plan began with demolishing vacant row houses and expected more funds to help expand the revitalization.  Delaware Online
  • On Mar. 28, the Involved and Informed Conference brought autism fathers and caregivers together in Wilmington to learn from experts and share experiences. The event offered valuable support for families navigating autism.  Delaware Online

BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Lewes-based Lefty's Alley & Eats will open a new location in The Grove in Newark this July. The restaurant and arcade venue will offer 55,000 sqft of entertainment (including bowling lanes, an arcade, and event spaces) and a full-service menu.  Delaware Online

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Delaware Division of the Arts’ Mezzanine Gallery is hosting Mike McSorley’s solo exhibition Out of the Ordinary which opened with a reception held Friday, April 10 at 5:00–7:00 p.m. and will run through April 24 at the gallery in the Carvel State Office Building at 820 N. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Thursday, Apr. 9, Delaware National Guard held a ribbon cutting at the 44,000 sqft River Road Training Site Readiness Center on Route 9, south of New Castle. The $25.5 million facility now serves the 153rd Military Police Company and 302nd Quartermasters Platoon — a major boost for soldier readiness.  WDEL

  • Charlie's Pizza Claymont and Dom's NY Style Pizzeria will face off in the Munch Madness championship as readers vote free online + casting ballots from today until Thursday, 5 p.m. to crown Delaware’s top pizza shop.  Delaware Online
