- ➤ UD’s Keys to Financial Success program launches updated curriculum and teacher training in anticipation of Delaware’s new financial literacy requirement for 9th graders starting this year. - ➤ Wilmington’s unhoused residents at Christina Park received new, waterproof tents on Wednesday after rain exposed problems with the first set. The city & Friendship House now aim to standardize setups and add mobile hygiene stations by month’s end. Delaware Public Media
- ➤ Delaware officials announced Wednesday that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reissued permits for the container port project in Edgemoor along the Delaware River, setting the stage for job growth even as additional permits remain under legal review. Spotlight Delaware
- ➤ High school and college students in Wilmington must register for Selective Service when they turn 18, though registration does not mean a draft is in effect today; the Army will raise the enlistment age to 42 (effective April 20) while allowing deferments for those still in school. - ➤ DNREC announced two new superintendents for state parks — Sean Cain will lead Cape Henlopen and Jackie Kook will manage Alapocas and Wilmington parks, effective today. Cain began his career in 2018 while Kook served as assistant superintendent since 2023. Deleware State Government
- ➤ New Castle County police will start using speed cameras on Milltown Road and McKennans Church Road on April 15 to catch drivers 6 mph over the 35 mph limit. Warnings will last 30 days before tickets are mailed and will not add points or change insurance rates. Delaware Online
