CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Freeman Arts Pavilion will launch its 19th annual season featuring summer shows by Matteo Bocelli on July 8, Gary Clark Jr. on Sept. 5 and KC and the Sunshine Band on July 10. Tickets are available from 10 a.m. March 20 for the new 4,000-seat venue. Delaware Online
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ DNREC Mosquito Control Section will begin spraying woodland pools with Bti on Friday, Mar. 20 to reduce biting adult mosquitoes later this spring in southern Sussex, Kent, and New Castle counties (weather conditions permitting). Deleware State Government
- ➤ The National Weather Service surveyed storm damage in parts of Delaware and Maryland after tornado warnings were issued on March 16. The agency said it would determine if straight-line winds or a tornado caused the impact and planned to release findings by the end of March 17. Delaware Online

- ➤ Penrose Hollins received Delaware’s top civilian honor for over three decades of public service including his work on affordable housing and community services during a ceremony on March 16 at a room now named after him at North Wilmington Library. Delaware Online
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Plans to develop the Grassdale property at Fort DuPont into an RV park stalled after a legal battle derailed the project. Local officials have not announced any new plans for the property. Delaware Online
