ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Agencies declared the barge fire under control after coordinated efforts by the U.S. Coast Guard and state teams from Delaware and New Jersey, no injuries were reported, and the vessel will move to Camden today (its salvage metal to be offloaded) as air quality continues to be monitored along waterways. - ➤ Grocery Outlet announced on March 11 that it will close 36 stores including the Kennett Square outlet while the outlets in Rehoboth Beach, Salisbury, and Elkton remain open. The chain said the changes are meant to boost earnings after a challenging fourth quarter. Delaware Online

- ➤ UD fashion design students and nearly 30 volunteers stitched Delaware’s panel for America’s Tapestry (the nation’s 250th anniversary exhibit) on March 11; the panel will be professionally finished in May and later displayed across the 13 colonies, reaching Delaware by 2028. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ DNREC announced that Delaware hunters harvested 16,746 deer this past season, with 11,907 antlerless and 4,839 antlered deer in one of the top-five harvests since 1954. DNREC launched the new interactive Game Harvest Dashboard (updated annually) to give hunters and residents detailed access to the data. Deleware State Government

- ➤ The Delaware Department of Insurance said that recent property reassessments will not cause homeowners insurance premiums to increase because rates are based on home rebuilding costs rather than tax assessments (a measure used solely for property taxes).
