- ➤ Coverdale Farm invites residents to apply for its Chicken Tenders program, where they raise baby chicks for five to six weeks this spring at the Preserve. Applications are due by March 1 (fee is $375 covering chicks, feed and supplies) and chick pickup will occur the week of March 16. Delaware Online
- ➤ DSADE will host events this month to boost Down syndrome inclusion with guest bartending fundraisers on Mar. 18 & 19 at Grain Craft Bar, Rail Haus, and The Starboard, Rock Your Socks on Mar. 21, and a Run for the Buds 5K on Mar. 22 in Dewey Beach. Delaware LIVE

- ➤ Delaware State Parks will begin its 75th Anniversary fee season on March 1 with special events, activities and new mobile pay options for daily entrance fees. Daily fees are $5 or $10 for Delaware vehicles, and an annual pass costs $50 for residents and lasts through Nov. 30. Deleware State Government

- ➤ Delaware residents who filed 2025 income tax returns can check their state refund using the Delaware taxpayer portal (for state returns) and the IRS refund status tool (for federal returns). Refunds typically take about 21 days after processing, though paper filings or errors may delay the timeline. Delaware Online
- ➤ A winter storm dropped over a foot of snow and led to statewide driving restrictions. Kent and Sussex counties imposed a Level 3 Driving Ban for nonessential travel, while New Castle County issued a Level 1 Driving Warning as of Feb. 23+businesses advised employees to shelter in place. - ➤ Wilmington officials plan meetings with community groups to decide if the 12-foot Columbus statue, removed in 2020 amid unrest, will return to a public site or be placed on private property in Little Italy. Italian American advocates continue to champion its return. WHYY

- ➤ A southern New Jersey resident tested positive for tuberculosis on Feb. 12, and health officials say close contacts are being tested while Delaware remains a low-incidence state.
