  • Kami Silk has been named the new dean of UD Graduate College with her role starting May 1. She brings strong leadership from her time as chair of the Department of Communication and from her work at Michigan State University.  University of Delaware
  • The Christina School District Board announced two candidates—Celita Cherry and Joseph Lewis—will interview for a vacant Wilmington seat at Maurice Pritchett Sr. Academy on Feb. 5, with the board set to appoint a new member on Feb. 10.  Spotlight Delaware
  • When snow falls, Delaware school leaders prepare to close schools, delay openings or switch to virtual lessons.   • SilverAssist announced its acquisition of Caring.com on Jan. 12 to streamline local senior care by connecting online resources with Delaware-based advisors in Hockessin (a key area in its growing network).   • ChristianaCare scientists used CRISPR to cut the NRF2 gene, making head and neck cancer cells more sensitive to chemotherapy in lab tests — a breakthrough that may lead to treatments with lower doses and fewer side effects when safe delivery methods are shown.  Delaware LIVE
