  • At Skratch on Monday, Jan. 12, managing partner Stanley Yau said the bar is set to focus solely on diversity and inclusion — a pledge to broaden its appeal in Wilmington.  Delaware Online

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Delmarva Power filed a rate increase request that may raise utility bills by 4% to fund upgrades for 344,000 customers. The proposal, which adds $67.8 million in revenue including shifting a temporary fee permanently, will be reviewed by a hearing examiner & the Commission later this year.  Spotlight Delaware

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Governor Matt Meyer announced Jon Sheehan's nomination to serve as President of the Delaware State Board of Education today. Sheehan, who recently served as Interim Executive Director at the University of Delaware’s Biden Institute (pending final Senate approval), brings extensive experience in education policy and workforce development.  Deleware State Government
  • Gov. Matt Meyer discussed his plan to raise educational outcomes during an interview with The News Journal on Wednesday, Jan. 14, and he expressed his commitment to enhancing student achievement across Delaware.  Delaware Online

HEALTH NEWS

  • Eight warming stations opened Jan. 14 to offer residents a chance to warm up during dangerously cold weather, according to the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS). The stations provide a safe haven for anyone in need.  Bay to Bay News
