- ➤ Avelo Airlines has named Wilmington Airport as one of five hubs as part of its schedule restructuring planned for later this year. The airline will deploy three Boeing 737-800s to fly from Wilmington to 10 destinations while removing previously announced services to Atlanta and Chicago. WDEL

- ➤ Delaware playwright Bill Potter's new play Thank You Willie Sutton uses satire and slapstick comedy to spotlight prescription drug costs. The production premieres Saturday and Sunday in Newark—its script was partly rewritten following a stage injury, adding a real-life twist while reinforcing community theater's role. - ➤ Former Archmere Academy headmaster and chaplain Rev. Joseph McLaughlin died Sunday after a brief illness. Visitation is set for Monday, Jan. 12 at Daylesford Abbey in Paoli followed by a Mass on Tuesday, Jan. 13. WDEL
- ➤ University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner College online MBA rose to No. 32 in Poets&Quants 2026 rankings, up nine spots from last year, showing ongoing academic improvements for working professionals. The program offers a flexible learning option that meets the needs of those advancing their careers. University of Delaware
- ➤ The Delaware Department of Education seeks sponsors for the Child and Adult Care Food Program, which reimburses meals at qualifying childcare centers, adult day care centers, emergency shelters, family day care homes, and afterschool programs. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Delaware law lets you ride electric bikes without a license on roads where bicycles are allowed, but riders must be 16 or older. Motorized scooters must stay in neutral on public streets, and in Newark riding on sidewalks risks a $100 fine. Delaware Online
- ➤ Wilmington has partnered with Friendship House to manage Christina Park, a temporary shelter for the unhoused designated last fall. The plan will offer cleaning, sanitation and support services — such as job training and counseling — to improve community safety and health. WDEL

- ➤ Delaware homeowners can now bypass probate when passing real estate using a new transfer-on-death deed available at county recorders. The law, signed by Gov. Matt Meyer and in effect since Dec. 5, helps reduce tangled titles while owners retain full control + are urged to seek legal advice before filing. Delaware Online
